Assistant Web Creative Designer, eCommerce

Location: San Francisco / Sacramento

Job Description:

The Assistant Web Designer will work collaboratively with the Web Creative Manager and other designers to develop and produce creative content for the eCommerce website. This person will be responsible for the HTML coding and online marketing for all brands. The Assistant Web Designer will take projects from concept to completion. S/he will design original layouts, while working within the parameters of each customer's requirements. The Assistant Web Creative Designer will work closely with the creative team, copywriters and business partners to help create, revise and ensure accuracy for all creative assets. This person will oversee color correction of images and optimize them for the web, while balancing image compression and quality of the site. S/he will be responsible for hand-coding HTML for emails and testing/deploying these emails in a timely manner. This person will work with the email service provider to manage day to day operations and resolve issues and refine processes for web development. The Assistant Web Designer will inspire and enhance the efforts of a highly creative team.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver
  • Strong expertise in HTML, CSS and SharePoint
  • Expertise in JavaScript and jQuery a plus
  • Expertise in Intranet design a plus
  • Strong user experience abilities both conceptually and functional
  • Must exhibit strong visual and technical problem-solving skills as well as a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a resourceful, innovative, entrepreneurial thinker
  • At least five years of user interface design experience
  • Degree in graphic/web design, fine arts, communications or equivalent
  • Must work effectively in a team environment where designers work closely with other professionals from the software development and marketing communications groups
